GameGuide

A game guide you can talk to.

Ask about a boss, a build, a quest or a sale. GameGuide researches it live, sets the answer out like a strategy guide, and keeps the story you haven’t reached behind a bar.

How it works

  1. It looks things up when you ask. Game wikis, official patch notes and web search are consulted when you ask, so answers follow the current patch rather than last year’s.
  2. It recognises the game. The chat takes on that game’s Steam art and a colour sampled from it, and the answer is set out like a strategy-guide page.
  3. It keeps your place. Tell it how far you have played and it answers up to there. Screenshots work too, up to three per message.

What you can ask

Anything, in plain words. A boss you are stuck on, a build, a quest, whether a game is on sale. These commands do specific jobs:

/progress
Tell it where you are, as in /progress Elden Ring: beat Margit. Story answers stay behind that line.
/missables
What you can still permanently miss (items, questlines, trophies) from where you are, with nothing past it spoiled.
/spoilers
Spoiler Shield on or off. On by default; /spoilers off once you have finished.
/price
The best current price for a game across PC stores, and how it compares with its lowest ever. Understands gta 5, bg3, ff7 remake.
/discover
A random pro tip, hidden detail or piece of lore.
/stealth
A throwaway conversation. Nothing saved, nothing remembered, no art looked up.
/clear
Delete your chat history.
/help
Every command, in the chat.

In Discord, the bot answers @mentions and slash commands the same way, and /watch posts a game’s patch notes and best deals into a channel.

Principles

  • No art beats wrong art. If it isn’t sure which game you mean, the page keeps your theme rather than dressing up as the wrong one.
  • Your story, your pace. Spoiler Shield is on from the start. Nothing past where you are shows unless you click it.
  • Stealth means stealth. A Stealth conversation is never saved or remembered, and no game art is fetched for it.
  • Guidance, not authority. Answers cite their sources. When it matters, like a purchase or a choice you can’t undo, check them.

Questions people ask

Is GameGuide free?
Yes. The free plan covers 15 messages a day on the web and in Discord, with the Spoiler Shield and missables included. Paid plans raise the limits; they are listed on the plans page.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to ask. Sign in with Google if you want your conversation history kept. A Stealth conversation is never saved.
How does the Spoiler Shield work?
Tell GameGuide where you are, for example /progress Elden Ring: beat Margit. Anything from later in the story stays behind a bar until you click it. The shield is on from the start, and /spoilers off turns it off once you have finished.
Where do the answers come from?
GameGuide looks things up when you ask: game wikis, official patch notes and web search. Answers list their sources and follow the current patch rather than last year’s. For a purchase or a choice you cannot undo, check them.
Can I share an answer without spoiling a friend?
Yes. The share button makes a link with the question and answer inside it, and the spoilers stay behind their bars for whoever opens it. Nothing is stored in a database, and the link’s preview never shows the hidden parts.
Does it work in Discord?
Yes. Add the bot to a server, then @mention it or use its slash commands for the same answers as the web. /watch posts a game’s patch notes and best deals into a channel.
Can I cancel a plan or get a refund?
Cancel a monthly or yearly plan at any time and keep what you paid for. In your first 7 days you can have a full refund. The refund policy has the details.
